Joe Sestak Video Wrap-Up

by: John Morgan

Wed May 19, 2010 at 11:50:23 AM EDT

Here are the wrap up videos from last night's Joe Sestak victory party.  The Netroots were an integral part of this effort.  Blogs and bloggers, especially Chris Bowers and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee PAC were strong for Joe and helped win this contest.  I did a short interview with the Congressman before his official entry into the race where he thanked the netroots for their support and encouragement.  I asked him last night about that support and going forward:

A progressive news reporter from New York asked Joe about the race:

Joe carried Alex on his shoulders all night after his speech.  She'd muss his hair affectionately and he'd try and fix it for the television cameras.  Now Joe is ready to carry the banner for Pennsylvania Democrats on his shoulders for this important Senate seat.  Next January his strong shoulders will be ready to carry the burdens of representing all of us in the Senate.

You called it, John; Congratulations Congressman Sestak (4.00 / 1)
My congratulations to you, John, and all pragmatic progressives who lined up early, midway, or more recently to support Congressman Sestak's run for the U.S. Senate.  Through morally-grounded, evidence-based discussions with Joe over the past year, PA progressives were able to move him in policy directions that raised the comfort level, and enthusiasm, to convert Congressman Sestak into a winner last night.

To Congressman Sestak: congratulations for keeping an open mind, and for demanding evidence-based, sensible policy approaches that will make people's lives better, create jobs, reduce waste, balance budgets, and deliver services we pay for and expect.

Respectfully yours,

Chuck Pennacchio, Ph.D.

Thanks Chuck (4.00 / 1)
I was one point off though.

Chuck and I joined forces five years ago to help rid Pennsylvania of two Republican U.S. Senators.  Today we woke up to find both Rick Santorum and Arlen Specter are history.  Its a good feeling.
